The Acadia First Nation has struck a deal with Hilton Hotels to build a “Tru by Hilton” establishment on the Yarmouth Reserve.
The hotel is expected to have 82 rooms, 1000 square feet of meeting space, a pool and water slide.
In a release from the Chief and Council of the Acadia First Nation, they state that the project will create income for their First Nation and employment for Band members.
They say the hotel will also contribute to the economy of Yarmouth County and the entire province.
The Council is hoping to foster tourism and bring in guests looking to experience the Mi’kmaq culture.
The construction will begin this Spring with an expected opening in July, 2020.
