Work is continuing in Arcadia where flooding occurred recently.
A culvert failed to divert water properly, flooding a large section of land.
It’s been an ongoing problem, exacerbated with heavy rain.
Bill Thurston with the Department of Transportation in Yarmouth tells CJLS that crews are still pumping water.
“But we’ve go the vast majority of it pumped away. From there we’re getting ready to get some heavy equipment in there to finish the job.”
Thurston says the work is progressing.
“We have to go down there 15 feet because it’ll be excavation and then backfill for the culvert that’s going in place.”
Motorists can use the Dominique Road to get around the work area.
Thurston says the road should be opened up again in a week, maybe less.
