It’s a big week for Yarmouth’s Josh Cochrane.
The 11 year old will become the youngest person to receive the Prince’s Youth Service Award, an initiative through WE.
Cochrane is well known in this community through his fundraising and awareness efforts for autism and other causes.
He is being honoured for spreading awareness on autism across the world, as he’s traveled to three World Autism Festivals.
Cochrane will fly to Toronto for WE Day on Thursday, where he will accept his award onstage at the Air Canada Centre.
He says he’s looking forward to the event.
“I think it’s pretty awesome. It goes to show that kids with autism can achieve great things.”
Cochrane says he’s looking forward to meeting artists like Kelly Clarkson and Shawn Hook, who will perform at the ceremony.
He is one of four in Canada to receive the award this year.
