The West Kings Wolverines won the Cook’s Cup today at Mariners Centre with a 3-2 victory over the Par-en-Bas Sharks.
The championship game was well-attended, with many fans cheering on the hometown Sharks.
Ethan Doucette and Derek d’Eon scored for the Sharks, who led 2-1 in the third period.
But PEB ran into penalty trouble, and the Wolverines would find the winner with 8:24 left.

Sharks Coach Julien Boudreau says his team had a great tournament.
“The boys picked it up at the end, we had a slow start to the tournament, but we really picked it up. I’m glad we got the finals, the first time in Par-en-Bas’ history.”
The tournament for the ‘milk jug’ trophy almost didn’t happen this year with work-to-rule.
But when Division 3 provincials were cancelled for PEB, the Sharks decided to co-host the Cook’s Cup with the Yarmouth High Vikings.
Boudreau says it’s nice for the players.
“It’s awesome, especially for the Grade 12’s to play one more time in high school hockey. It’s great for them and their families.”
Earlier today, the Sharks won their semifinal game over Central Kings 2-0, and the Wolverines got to the championship game by beating Barrington 7-2.
The co-host Yarmouth High Vikings played in some close games, but went 0-4.
