The Executive Director of Juniper House in Yarmouth is grateful for a recent donation.
The 100+ Women Who Care of Yarmouth County awarded the group over $10,000 at their 10th meeting last Tuesday night.
Lisa Newell-Bain says they are honoured to be recognized by the organization.
“The money that we received will be put towards additional violence prevention work, to add more services for the women and children in our community.”
Juniper House was built in 1985 to provide a safe refuge for women and their children who have experienced abuse.
The 100+ Women also surpassed the $100,000 mark in donations to local organizations.
They have donated to groups like the Tri-County Women’s Centre, VON, the food bank and more.
