Renovations to the Rodd Grand Hotel in Yarmouth are underway.
The PEI based company made a two million dollar investment in the hotel recently.
The upgrades will focus on modernizing guest rooms, fitness facilities, meeting space and common areas.
In April, the hotel will see new windows and heating units installed on the south side of the building.
In October/November, painting, carpeting and new furnishings will be put in place in the rooms.
The hotel chain is planning on expanding its resources and capital budget for the Rodd Grand due to a positive 2016 tourism season, thanks to Bay Ferries service ‘The CAT.’
President and CEO of Rodd Hotels and Resorts Mark Rodd says it’s a worthwhile investment.
“We are confident in the visitor traffic down there, and we’re confident in the future of Yarmouth. We want to be able to put forth a product that we’re proud of.”
Rodd says the construction will take place during non-peak times to limit any interference with guests.
The hotel employs over 80 people in peak season.
There are 138 rooms at the hotel.
