A well known boat-builder has been inducted into the Atlantic Canada Marine Industries Hall of Fame.
Gilles Theriault of Meteghan company A.F. Theriault and Sons received the induction as a builder today at the Eastern Canadian Fisheries Expo at Mariners Centre.
Theriault is a third generation boat-builder who manages the company with his cousin David.
He started doing a variety of labour jobs and became a full time machinist in 1991, and a certified boat-builder in 2006.
He says it was a great honour to be inducted today.
“The trade show put a big effort into putting the show together for the industry across Southwestern Nova Scotia. It’s a great honour for myself, our company and our people, and the customers we work with on a day-to-day basis. We put a big effort in repairing and replacing boats everyday. It’s always a great pleasure to be honoured.”
Theriault says he prides himself on giving clients what they require with great customer service.
He encourages everyone to check out the expo, which runs again tomorrow from 10am-5pm.
