Superintendent Lisa Doucet is leaving the Tri-County Regional School Board.
Doucet has accepted a position with the Atlantic Provinces Special Education Authority, a Halifax based position.
A transition plan, including timelines is underway.
Doucet says special education has always been a passion of hers.
‘So when I saw that this opportunity was there, I thought I would look into what that process would be. I decided to apply for the position. I’m honoured that I was selected to be the new Superintendent of APSEA. and I look forward to working with them to build on the excellent work that’s already happening there.”
Doucet served as Superintendent for five years, holding several positions within the board prior to that.
She says she’s learned a lot about leadership and teamwork.
“We have built a really strong school-based team and central office and board level team who work together to support our students and families in school communities. For me as Superintendent, that’s definitely helped me in my role over the last five years. I’m thankful I’ve had that time for the collaboration and the teamwork.”
The board says they’ll begin an executive search for a new Superintendent in the near future.
