Environment Canada says residents of Nova Scotia should watch the forecast over the long weekend.
A tropical cyclone information statement has been issued for Yarmouth, Shelburne and Digby Counties, as well as Lunenburg, Queens, Annapolis and Halifax Counties.
Hurricane Hermine arrived on Florida’s Gulf Coast overnight as a Category 1.
Hermine is not expected to have a direct impact on Canadian territory over most of the Labour Day weekend.
However, Environment Canada says some potential impacts are possible next week.
