Chase the Ace fever continues to reach new heights each week in West Pubnico.
The fundraiser for the West Pubnico Legion began in February, and the jackpot has grown to over $100,000.
There are 26 cards left in the deck and the ace remains hidden.
Tonight’s jackpot is expected to exceed $120,000.
Legion President Jean-Bernard d’Entremont says the volunteers work hard to put this together every week.
“We didn’t advertise for volunteers until very recently,” he says.
“People have come to us [saying] ‘is there anyway I can volunteer?’”
Over $56,000 in tickets were sold last week, and volunteers have been busy preparing tickets for tonight’s draw.
Tickets are available at five locations, the Legion, the West Pubnico Fire Hall, East Pubnico Community Centre, the Argyler Lodge and Red Cap Restaurant.
d’Entremont says the fundraiser will keep going every week until the ace is picked, or the event becomes unmanagable due to the volume of people.
