Defender Elliot Belzile was named first star of the game, scoring a goal and an assist, while Aaron Maillet scored the other Yarmouth goal.
Belzile's game winning goal came with one second left in the second period.
Thompson Phinney got the win in net after allowing the game's opening goal just 1:07 in, making 21 saves.
Jacob Stewart stopped 29 shots for the Wildcats.
Head Coach and General Manager Laurie Barron says it was a solid effort from his team.
"We hit some posts, and the nice thing is we've been scoring a few goals and we've been keeping the goals against down. We didn't give up a whole lot in our own end, so I'm pretty pleased over that."
The Mariners begin the season this Friday night as they host the Truro Bearcats.
Barron was asked if he would be naming a captain ahead of the regular season opener.
"I'll probably name four or five captains. I want to make sure I have the right guy. We have a number of guys who could step in and fill that role, but before I make my decision, I want to be one hundred percent sure."
The Mariners were thinking about a teammate through the weekend, as forward Connor Peveril was involved in a single-vehicle accident Saturday morning on his way to a team meeting.
Peveril suffered a non-life threatening injury, and is out indefinitely.
