That’s not the only boat fire police are looking into.
On October 5 around 7:45am, a fire was reported aboard the fishing vessel ‘Amanda’s Pride 1.’
The boat had been docked at the slip in Weymouth North.
An initial investigation determined that the suspect or suspects put something in the engine hatch which caused the fire.
Corporal Jennifer Clarke says police realize there is speculation out there.
“The sooner we figure out who or what parties might have been responsible for these fires, the sooner that speculation will be put to rest. I can’t speculate on the motivation for whoever set those fires.”
Cpl. Clarke says it’s too early in the investigation to determine if the incidents are related.
The RCMP are asking for the public to come forward with any information on these incidents by contacting them or Crime Stoppers.
