A Westjet 737 sits on the tarmack of the Thunder Bay Airport this morning after RCMP had received information of a possible explosive onboard the aircraft.
Thunder Bay police say the plane was on a flight from Vancouver to Ottawa last night just before 10:30 when officials decided to divert it to the Lakehead. The 125 passengers and crew were all taken off the plane and were questioned overnight.
OPP and Thunder Bay Police bomb squads are expected to inspect the aircraft thoroughly later this morning.
Meantime, an overnight tweet from Westjet says the threat was deemed to be non-specific and non-credible.
We received a threat against flight #WS142 from Vancouver to Ottawa tonight. Authorities determined it to be non-specific and non-credible.
