A shortage of nurses has forced the temporary closure of the ER at Digby General Hospital.
It was closed at 6am and will reopen at 8pm.
The Nova Scotia Health Authority says in case of an emergency, call 911 or visit the nearest emergency department.
People can get non-emergency health advice from a registered nurse by calling 811.
The Mental Health Crisis Line operates 24/7 at 1-888-429-8167.
This is the first Er closure since December 28.
