The following are weekend local sports results sent to our newsroom:
YARMOUTH COUNTY MINOR HOCKEY:
BANTAM A:
The West Pubnico Pharmasave Bantam A Mariners lost 4-3 to South Shore in a league game at the LCLC in Bridgewater on Saturday.
Scoring for Yarmouth were Dominic Higby, Jaden Kerr and Tanner Nickerson.
Assists went to Jessie Amiro, Chandler LeBlanc and Jaden Kerr.
Emma Swansburg was in net.
On Sunday the West Pubnico Pharmasave Bantam A Mariners played Acadia in a League game at the Kentville Arena losing 5-1.
Scoring for Yarmouth was Jaden Kerr.
Assists went to Ethan Saulnier and Tanner Nickerson.
Austin Surette was in goal.
PEEWEE AA
The Spears and MacLeod Pharmasave Peewee AA Mariners lost two home games this past weekend, coming out flat against a very strong Amherst team.
Braeden Hipson and Charlie Whitty both battled hard in net.
Riley Hubbard scored Yarmouth’s only goal in the 4-1 loss in game two.
PEEWEE B
The Timbermart PeeWee B Mariners faced the South Shore Ice Sharks at the LCLC Saturday.
They brought home a 2-1 win.
Scoring were AJ Deveau and Lucas Cottreau with assists from Nolan Cottreau, Keaton Muise, Dominic Jacquard and Isaac Richardson.
Sunday’s game was on home ice with a 6-1 win.
Scoring for the Timbermart Mariners were Lucas Cottreau with assists from Ben Lyons and Dominic Jacquard.
Daniel Kennney, who was called up to replace an injured player, scored twice with assists from Alyre Richardson, Toby d’Entremont and and Isaac Tunnicliff.
AJ Deveau assisted by Landon Watkins and Dominic Jacquard, Ben Lyons assisted by Nolan Cottreau and Lucas Cottreau.
Dominic Jacquard was unassisted.
Brady Saulnier was in nets for both games making some amazing saves.
ATOM A:
On Saturday, the Yarmouth JStrong Atom A Mariners played South Shore, losing 12-2.
Scoring for Yarmouth were Sawyer Kristensen, unassisted and Jack d’Entremont, assisted by Karter Bain.
Sunday’s home game was played against West Hants where they lost 6-2.
Sawyer Kristensen had a hat trick.
Assists went to Crofton MacAlpine and Brody Goodwin.
Marcel Jacquard had one goal assisted by Karter Bain.
Lukas Nickerson and Benoit Seeley were in net both games
CURLING:
The Logan Sweeney rink from Yarmouth qualified for under 21 junior men’s provincials over the weekend.
The Sweeney rink went 2-2 over the weekend and grabbed one of the last two spots in the eight team provincial tournament to be held after Christmas.
BOWLING:
After week 10 of the Sunday Mixed bowling league, the Outlaws are in first place with 54 points, the Southenders in seocnd place with 45 points, and with 43 points in third are the Alleybenders.
The Men’s High Single for the night was Lolly Surette with a 145.
Surette also had the the Men’s High Triple with a 370.
The Ladies High Single was Donna Ogden with a 121.
Ogden also had the High Ladies Triple of 350.
