RCMP say there is 'no concern to public safety' after a complaint of a man with a rifle in Tusket.

Media Relations Officer Corporal Dal Hutchinson tells Acadia News that RCMP received a call around 7pm this evening that a man was walking on the side of the road in the Yarmouth County community with what appeared to be a rifle.

Hutchinson says Yarmouth Rural RCMP responded and conducted an extensive patrol of the area.

He says police visited homes in the neighbourhood looking for information.

Hutchinson says no other complaints were received, and RCMP determined there is no threat.

RCMP cruisers have since left the scene.
