Recently, your online friends may have asked you to drop and give them 22.
That’s part of a new viral campaign that is helping to raise awareness for soldiers and first responders who suffer from PTSD.
It’s called the 22 push-up challenge and the idea is to do 22 pushups for 22 days and post a video online to nominate someone else to do the same.
The 22 push-ups challenge was started by four friends in Ottawa who then partnered with Wounded Warriors Canada.
Scott Maxwell with Wounded Warriors Canada says this is a way Canadians can support those who support them.
“It doesn’t require that much time, it doesn’t require that much funds. And they can do something in this case for almost a month if they’re participating in it for the full 22 days. You put it all together and we’ve got a great campaign that’s making a real difference.”
Maxwell says what he likes about this campaign is the commitment required.
“I really like the fact that it’s just not about once and done. It has a little bit of a life to it. It’s almost a month you’re captivating people’s attention and time and focus.”
