Mariners Down Bearcats 4-1 For Fourth Straight Win

The Yarmouth Junior A Mariners have won four straight games and sit just two points back of South Shore for first in the MHL.

Their latest victory came in Truro last night 4-1 over the Bearcats.

Duncan McKie scored and was named first star, Chris Goreham, Aaron Maillet and Logan Timmons also found the back of the net.

Leif Hertz got the win in goal, making 28 saves.

Gavin Hart scored for the Bearcats and Kevin Resop turned aside 24 Mariner shots.

A fight broke out in the third period when the Mariners Ben Chipman took on Karter Renouf.

Renouf was given an instigator penalty.

Also, Truro's Taylor Read was ejected for checking from behind in the third period.

The Bearcats play tonight on the road in Pictou County, while the Mariners wait for Truro's arrival tomorrow night.
