You may have noticed the sidewalks along Water Street are a little cleaner looking today.
Thanks go to members of the Yarmouth Sea Cadets.
They spent three hours Saturday picking up litter.
Lieutenant (Navy) Jeremy Bain says the cadets worked from 9am until noon.
“The weather was great and the cadets had a great time. They picked up a lot of trash. Unfortunately it seems to be quite a bit each year when we do this. We had a full 4 by 8 trailer load of garbage bags by the time we were done.”
Bain says the cleanup initiative started a few years ago under a program called Cadets Care For Canada.
He says the cadets are always willing to help any group with a cleanup.
