Lena Metledge Diab created the Advisory Committee to the Minister of Acadian Affairs and Francophonie last week.

Diab says she looks forward to working collaboratively with its members to advance both government's priorities and the priorities of Nova Scotia's Acadian and Francophonie communities.

The six member committee includes the President of the Acadian Federation of Nova Scotia, Ghislain (jis-LAN) Boudreau.

Boudreau says FANE is happy that the electoral boundary issues and restoration of Acadian ridings will be discussed directly with the Minister.

"Because it's something that our membership and our various communities have noted that is very important for us and we look forward to, hopefully, having our boundaries restored."

He says FANE has been asking for this committee to be formed.

"In order to advise the Minister of Acadian Affairs and the Francophonie about the different priorities that we have within the Acadian community in Nova Scotia. We're extremely happy that it's been formed and we look forward to working with the Minister.

He says the first meeting is expected to take place in the near future.
