A popular annual summer attraction has a new name and a new venue.
It's no longer Mariner's Ribfest but is now called Yarmouth Ribfest and it will be held on the Mariners Centre's north parking facing Starrs Road.
Organizer Keith Condon tells CJLS News they were running out of space on the waterfront.
"It's getting extremely difficult with the ferry running, street closures. Also, the venue was long & narrow there and it was difficult to fit everything in."
Condon says the name change reflects an expansion to reach out to more local organization but the Mariners and Yarmouth County Minor Hockey will still be a part of Ribfest.
"What we're doing is including a lot of different organizations for volunteers. All the profits for the Ribfest will be donated back to the organizations that helped us put it on."
He says volunteers will be sought from various organizations who will then receive donations from the festival.
Yarmouth Ribfest takes place July 5, 6 and 7.
