Aaron Maillet was named first star of the game with a goal and and two assists, Andrew Martell also scored and had a pair of assists.
Ben Young, Duncan McKie, Brent Broaders and Luc Poirier also scored, and Leif Hertz got the win in goal making 33 saves.
MacKenzie Janes stopped 21 shots for the Lumberjacks, who got goals from Jonathan Mason and Ian MacPhee.
Mariners Head Coach and General Manager Laurie Barron says his team was great offensivly, but were only so-so on defense.
"That's going to happen, especially this early in the year with guys getting used to playing with each other. We didn't really match lines tonight, we rolled with 11 forwards and seven defensemen. That's a good hockey club we beat tonight, so it's a satisfying win."
The Mariners scored three in the first period, but were outshot 35-27 in the game.
Barron says they are trying to get better every period.
"This division, you can't give away any points. It's going to be so tough, there will be no pushovers. The fans will benefit the most this season."
Yarmouth wraps up the preseason tomorrow night at 7:30 against the Valley Wildcats at the Fishtank.
The regular season begins Friday with Truro in town.
