There is still time left if you want to take a tour of one of Yarmouth's landmarks. Tours of Yarmouth Mountain Cemetery have been very popular. Superintendent Jack Dease says the tours will continue for two more weeks. Dease says people are amazed at what is revealed during including the fact that 19 Mayors are laid to rest there. "We have a Premier buried here as well. 11 Parliamentarians. I think probably a lot of the intriguing interest is in the Jewish lot as well because a lot of people aren't aware of how much of an impact the Jewish community had in days gone by." The tours will continue Monday through Friday at 10am and 1 and 3 in the afternoon. On Thursdays the tours run at 1, 3 and 6:30. During the last two weeks, tours will be available on Saturday August 12 and Saturday August 19 at 10, 1 and 3. Logan Jamieson is the tour guide and Dease says he has put a lot of hard work into researching for the tours. The tours are free. (Y95 photo-cemetery tours end at the Ritchie Memorial Chapel)
