Preparations are underway for the 2017 Relay for Life in Yarmouth.
The event goes Saturday, June 17th from 6pm-12am at Mariners Centre.
Leanne Schneider is the Ambassador for this years' event.
The Darling's Lake woman survived aggressive Stage 3 breast cancer, and has been cancer free for over a year.
She says taking part in the Survivors lap is an overwhelming feeling.
"Because we've all come through this together, and we're all on the other side of this horrible thing, it bonds us together in a really special way."
She will once again be fundraising with her team, 'the Wonder Women.'
All proceeds go to the Canadian Cancer Society.
Schneider says he knows from her experience that the money is being put to good use.
"It's not going to pay for somebody in a big fancy office somewhere to take a big paycheque, it's actually going to the fight against cancer, and for the people who are fighting it."
