The Yarmouth Junior A Mariners are no longer undefeated at home.

They lost their second straight game to the South Shore Lumberjacks, this time by a score of 4-1 tonight.

South Shore beat Yarmouth last Saturday in Bridgewater, now the Mariners home record sits at 9-1.

Keegan Gauthier got the Mariners started early with a goal, but Lumberjacks goalie MacKenzie Janes shut the door the rest of the way with 31 saves.

The Jacks got goals from Logan O'Neil with two, Samuel Cyr-Ledoux and former Mariner Mateo Short, who made his return to the 'Fishtank.'

Leif Hertz took the loss in goal for Yarmouth, making 20 saves

Mariners Head Coach Laurie Barron says the Jacks made the most of their opportunities.

"I guess one through 20, they were ready and we weren't. Obviously their coach did a better job of getting his team ready than I did."

Yarmouth trails South Shore by four points for first in the South Division.

The Mariners also debuted new gold home uniforms.

Barron says Topline Industrial Sales had a hand in the jerseys.

"Topline jumped in and did a beautiful job for us, they are beautiful sweaters. We didn't christen them in very well, but they look very smart and we're proud of them. We'll get it back to winning ways."

It's the first new set of jerseys for the Mariners since the 2008 season.

Up next for Yarmouth, a three game New Brunswick road-trip starting in Campbellton on Friday.
