The Nova Scotia NDP have found their representative in Queens-Shelburne for the next provincial election.

Leader Gary Burrill and current MLA Sterling Belliveau will be on hand when the party nominates John Davis as its candidate on March 8.

Davis has worn many hats as an educator, newspaper editor, and fisherman to name a few.

He's also been a fish plant owner and operator, diver and underwater documentary television producer.

Davis says communities face many challenges including high unemployment, youth outmigration, and a lack of family doctors.

Belliveau is retiring after the next provincial election.

The nomination meeting on March 8 will be held at 7 p.m at the Shelburne Community Centre.
