A series of talks will be held in the Tri-Counties by the author of a recently released book discussing the Miss Ally tragedy.
Quentin Casey released his book, The Sea Was in Their Blood, earlier this year.
It focuses on the five men board the 12-metre Cape Islander from Woods Harbour and why they were at sea during a storm that was forecasted days in advance.
Casey says the story captivated people.
“It was national news at the time, you know, five young guys lost and three of them had kids. It’s a story that really connected with a lot of people especially in Nova Scotia where so many people have that tie to the industry.”
Five fishermen died in February 2013 when the Miss Ally capsized off the coast of Nova Scotia.
The first talk will be held tonight in Lockeport at 7 p.m at the Lillian Benham library.
Other talks are planned at public libraries in Barrington Friday at 6 p.m and Pubnico on August 17 at 6 p.m.
