The latest employment numbers look good for Nova Scotia.

According to Statistics Canada, the province added 5,400 jobs in January.

That drives the number of employed Nova Scotians to a record high of 465,100 last month.

That's up by 11,600 jobs over the same time last year.

The province is also experiencing the lowest unemployment rates on record at 6.9 percent.

Finance and Treasury Board Minister Karen Casey says she is pleased to see that Nova Scotia's economic outlook continues to be positive.

And that Government is working to create the right conditions for economic growth so that the private sector can create jobs and opportunities for Nova Scotians.
