In the Queens-Shelburne riding there wasn’t an incumbent winning the seat as former NDP MLA Sterling Belliveau is not re-offering in this provincial election.
The riding went from orange to blue.
Kim Masland, the Progressive Conservative candidate won the seat beating her nearest rival, Liberal Vernon Oikle by 944 votes.
Masland says she fought a very hard campaign.
“I knocked on over five thousand doors in this riding and on every doorstep healthcare overall was the major, major focus of this entire campaign and it’s on the minds of residents of Queens-Shelburne, They’re worried.”
The NDP’s John Davis received 1565 votes and Green Party candidate Kathaleen Milan had 272.
Voter turnout in Queens-Shelburne was just under 53 per cent.
