General Manager, Steve Burns, says he's excited to host the eight time Juno award winner and member of the Canadian Music Hall of Fame.
"The facility has really gained a great reputation in being a host and we're sure it's going to be the concert event of the summer for Southern Nova Scotia."
Burns says the concert ties in with Canada's 150th anniversary and he expects tickets will sell fast once they go on sale Thursday morning at 10 a.m.
He says the concert follows other great events like Blue Rodeo and the Beach Boys.
"We expect nothing less than a very quick sellout of this event. It ties great into Canada 150 and the time of the concert is perfect for people to get here from Halifax, Valley or Yarmouth."
An opening act will also be announced in the coming weeks.
Concert tickets will be available at www.ticketpro.ca or call toll free 1-888-311-9090, at Queens Place Emera Centre, or any Ticketpro outlet in Atlantic Canada.
Tickets range from $58.50 to $69.50 plus taxes and fees.
The concert will begin at 8:30 p.m., with doors opening at 6:30 p.m.
