Bay Ferries has again modified the schedule for the Cat ferry which sails between Yarmouth and Portland.
It's due to a problem that developed on June 28 with the vessel's starboard outer main engine.
In a news release, the company says under the new schedule, the Cat will make five round trips per week until Labour Day.
Originally the ferry was to make six round trips per week in July and seven round trips a week in August.
The Cat will leave Yarmouth at its normal time of 8:30 am Atlantic on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and return from Portland at 4pm Atlantic Time those days.
Saturday mornings, for the remainder of this month and during the month of August, the ferry will make a one-way crossing to Portland leaving Yarmouth at 8:30am Atlantic.
On Sundays it will make a one-way crossing from Portland leaving at noon Atlantic.
Bay Ferries CEO Mark Macdonald the maufacturer of the engine will absorb all of the costs of repairs.
He says the engine can't be fixed during this year's sailing season.
