Three projects in Digby County will receive federal funding.
Just over $52,000 will help the Town of Digby improve its downtown promenade, including renovations to the sidewalk, deck and railing, the addition of new outdoor furniture and a water bottle refilling station.
The town is investing nearly $138,000 in that project.
Also, the federal government announced $36,000 for the Digby Area Recreation Commission for upgrades to the community swimming pool, and over $12,000 for the Bear River Board of Trade to renovate an existing glass structure into a community greenhouse.
The money in Bear River will also help beautify the waterfront park.
West Nova MP Colin Fraser says Digby and Bear River are fortunate to have spaces like the downtown promenade, the community swimming pool, and the community greenhouse and waterfront park, which provide a variety of benefits not only for tourism and recreation, but also for the well-being of residents.
The province and the Digby Dolphins swim team are also making financial contributions to the pool project.
