Another step towards a new administration building for the Municipality of Argyle.
On Tuesday night council accepted a recommendation to hire Wild Salt Architecture of Hubbards to design the new building.
The new building will be located in Tusket on land known locally as the Whitfield property.
Argyle CAO Alain Muise says 10 architect firms submitted proposals, although one failed to meet a deadline.
He explains how the process will move ahead.
"The architect will be quickly getting an initial meeting with us, a discussion around what our hopes and dreams are for this building within of course the fiscal limitations that we are currently looking at. That will include both staff and council as well as the building committee which is comprised of some business professionals."
Muise says public engagement will be part of the process.
He says council has determined the cost of the building should be in the range of $2.2 million to $2.4 million.
