The teachers union rep for the South Shore is stepping down.
Marc Breaugh is leaving his postion as the Nova Scotia Teachers Union Provincial Executive Member for the South Shore.
The teacher and guidance counsellor at Bayview Community School will focus on his campaign as the provincial NDP candidate for Lunenburg.
“I’m gathering information from people in the know. My involvement will be on a number of committees that deal with the environment, that deal with health care.”
And he plans to spend time becoming more familiar with the people and issues there.
“Get involved with the community, go to community events, do some door-to-door, getting to know the people in the constituency. That kind of work – I don’t believe you can start that too early.”
Breaugh feels the NSTU has done a good job of bringing classroom concerns to the province’s attention.
He’s excited to continue to address important issues as he works to become the representative for Lunenburg in the next election.
Breaugh says he’s proud to represent a party and a leader in Gary Burrill whose ideas so closely align with his own.
And he looks forward to the campaign whenever the election is called.
