After a 15 year hiatus, a fund raiser for the Canadian Cancer Society will return to Western Nova Scotia.
The Digby Jail and Bail will be held next month.
It also raises money for support services and organizations like the Sobey Cancer Support Centre, which runs centres including The Lodge that Gives.
Niki Lewis, District Coordinator for the Cancer Society says it's wonderful to see the event return.
"It was a fantastic event when it was held in Digby years ago. They raised anywhere from $5,000 to $10,000 which is pretty incredible for a small comunity. The RCMP detachment in Digby wanted to get involved and help out."
The Jail and Bail will be take place Friday, May 5 from 9 a.m. till 4 p.m. at the Digby Curling Rink, which will serve as the jail.
On that day anyone in Digby can call in and have a person arrested by event volunteers. There's a $10 fee.
They can raise their bail by calling others to donate money.
According to the a release from the Canadian Cancer Society, two out of five Canadians will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime.
