A fire chief in Western Nova Scotia says people should check the provincial burn ban web site before burning brush or grass.
The Department of Natural Resources has placed a restrictions across the province.
However there have been several grassfires in the Tri-Counties recently.
Brian Nickerson of the Islands and Barrington Fire Department says people need to pay attention.
"Be careful. Keep an eye on things because everything is dry. Check the weather and make sure you know what restrictions are in place."
Currently, domestic burning is only allowed between the hours of 7 p.m and 8 a.m in the Tri-Counties.
DNR's Burn Safe website is updated at 2 p.m each day.
