Those on site were all evacuated from the buildings.
Halifax Regional Police, Cape Breton Regional Police and RCMP officers have been leading the investigations in each of those communities.
Mary Thompson, Principal of the NSCC campuses in Yarmouth and Shelburne explains why the decision was made.
“Our executive made the decision to close campuses and learning centres for the remainder of the day simply out of caution. There were recent bomb threats made at other campuses, but not ours and not in this area.”
Thompson says there is no need for immediate alarm, they just wanted to make sure everyone is safe.
The Blood Donor Clinic from Canadian Blood Services is canceled today due to the closure of NSCC Burridge Campus.
