There's a problem with houseflies in some communities in Yarmouth County.
Lower Eel Brook to be specific.
Councillor Nicole Albright brought the issue to the attention of Argyle Municipal council last night.
"According to what I've heard, it's a huge problem. They're constantly having to put of fly traps. You can't enjoy your back deck, you can't barbecue because the fly situation is just intolerable. There's been a family that moved into the area, didn;t know the situation and it's been very disappointing."
Albright says she's been contacted by residents including those at the Nakile Home For Special Care.
There is a mink farm in the area.
But Albright says the source of the flies has not been determined.
"I can't confirm that the source has been determined. There has been some speculation but as this point we're not 100 per cent sure. That's why I brought it up. I'd like to dig into the situation a little more."
