RCMP Still Not Saying Much About Shot Fired At Digby County Home

Digby RCMP are still looking for the individual who fired a shot into the living room of a Westport home in the early morning hours yesterday.

Police say the shot came through the living room window.

A man, woman and small child were inside the house at the time but no one was injured.

Cpl Jen Clarke, an RCMP media spokesperson says they are not treating it as a random incident but she couldn't get into specifics.

"The reason for the comment would be to let people know that we don't feel that there's someone going around Westport doing this to random people. The two individuals would have been known to one other. The person knew what they were doing when they did that, they knew whose home it was I believe."

She says the RCMP are not releasing more details at this time, but are encouraging anyone with information to contact them.

They can be reached at 902 245 2579, or 1-800-803-RCMP (7267).
