Yarmouth MLA's tweet causes a stir.

Thursday, July 26th 2012

The MLA for Yarmouth says he was not attacking the late Jack Layton in a message sent on Twitter.
Yesterday Liberal Zach Churchill tweeted that former NDP leader Jack Layton 'would be disgusted with how the party is operating in Nova Scotia'.
Churchill's message came as the anniversary of Layton's decision to step down as leader of the NDP approaches.
Layton was forced to leave the party this time last year to battle cancer.
He died August 22.
Many of Churchill's followers on Twitter responded with angry messages.
Churchill tells CJLS he had a great respect for Jack Layton and what he stood for.
Churchill told CJLS is was not fair for him to assume that Layton would place judgement on Premier Darrell Dexter.
