Laurell
Can't Stop Falling
Laurell’s sound has been brewing her whole life. A Vancouverite and first-generation Canadian whose parents sailed from Liverpool, Laurell found herself singing along to the Beatles as soon as she could talk.
Living in the Northwest exposed Laurell to the elements: snowboarding, surfing, wakeboarding, hiking, and dirtbiking. It was these elements that shaped her appreciation of acoustic, rock, folk, hip-hop, punk, and pop music. Her classical background and jazz-based schooling provided a framework for all of these inspirations to take shape, and today, Laurell's music has found its way to a playful, acoustic pop sound, while never losing the honesty from which she draws.
With three albums to boast, hundreds of U.S. and Canadian tour dates under her belt, a cluttered shelf of accolades, and a growing grassroots following, singer/songwriter Laurell is finding herself on new ground and jumping in with both feet.
After being named "Vancouver Idol" in 2001 on TV's popular reality show Canadian Idol, Laurell took fate into her own hands and independently released her first full-length album, Into Your Love. The spiritually-reflective recording had 500 CD's snatched up the day it dropped, and with band-in-tow, Laurell crossed the country to a hugely warm reception and further success in CD sales. That year, the album's single, "Great 'I AM'" won Song of the Year at the Canadian People's Choice Gospel Music Awards (Shai).
Eleven months later Laurell released The Fool In Me, and a playful experimentation of instruments, grooves, and subjects emerged. Once again, the CD sales exploded at her release, and Laurell went on to tour the west coast of Canada and the U.S. multiple times, sharing bills with numerous bands and songwriters.
In November 2007, Laurell dropped Fears Aside - a beautiful collection of five more self-penned songs - into the hands of her waiting fans. The album immediately gained her international recognition, winning the We Are Listening songwriting competition for her title track, landing her the $10,000 grand prize in MSN/Sympatico’s indie artist search, and earning her a Western Canadian Music Awards nomination for Outstanding Pop Album.
Recently, Laurell was invited to Toronto and LA to write with numerous established songwriters. The outcome is a 12-song CD entitled Can’t Stop Falling.

Alex Cuba
If You Give Me Love
Cuban musical revolutionary Alex Cuba is dealing another blow to conventional expectations for Latin artists – and another extend of the hand to non-Spanish speaking converts to his Cuban rock soul sound.
The proud citizen of Smithers, B.C.is releasing his first ever English language radio single, a remix of “If You Give Me Love” from his self-titled third album. The funk-infused track was mixed by Grammy-winning engineer Phil Tan.
A “Comandante” of the road, Alex will tour Canada January through April while also preparing for the U.S. release of the new self-titled album on May 4th.
Following a year in which he co-wrote an album with Nelly Furtado and saw the single “Manos Al Aire” top charts in fourteen countries - becoming the #1 Latin song in the U.S. - Alex released his long-awaited third album on October 27th.
His frenetic fall tour included sold-out dates in Montreal, Vancouver, Saskatoon and Winnipeg, and in late November, he received the SOCAN Hagood Hardy Award for overall success in jazz, instrumental or world music. Alex Cuba topped the iTunes Canada Latino chart and came close to breaking the Top 50 on the overall chart – a significant achievement for an album sung almost entirely in a non-official language.

DANCE PARTY FANS!
Here is Rihanna's New 3rd Single "Rude Boy" From Her Album "Rated R"

DANCE PARTY FANS!
New Boyz feat. Ray J
“Tie Me Down”
New Boyz, the L.A.-based duo made up of Dominic "Legacy" Thomas and Ben J (born Earl Benjamin), started 2009 as a Los Angeles underground youth phenomenon, but in only a matter of months, they’ve become rising stars. In this short time period, 17-year-olds Ben J and Legacy have gone from shows in local high school gyms to performing on the red carpet at the BET Awards and booking an impressive lineup of concerts across America.
This astounding jump comes from the success of their song “You’re a Jerk,” a hypnotic dancefloor-filler that the New York Times called “pretty much perfect.” Though it started as a favorite on MySpace, it has turned into a certified Top 5 smash at Rhythmic and peaked just outside the Top 10 at Urban Radio in America.
“Tie Me Down” feat. Ray J, the second single from their debut release SKINNY JEANS AND A MIC, is already Top 10 at Rhythmic, and currently sits just outside the Top 20 at Urban and the Top 40

With Valentines day just around the corner..... there is not only love in the air....but unfortunately for some there is also some 'hurting'...
Karl Wolf's new single "Hurting"....from his album "Nightlife".

IYAZ
“Solo”
'Replay,' the first single from Iyaz has already sold 130 000 digital downloads in Canada (over 2.5 million in the US) and remains in the Top 10 on the Soundscan Digital Songs Chart. It is currently Top 10 at CHR and All Format, and the #1 ringtone in the country.
“Solo,” the second single from IYAZ was co-written by Beluga Heights label-mate Jason Derulo, and produced by JR Rotem who produced Jason Derulo’s smash hit “Whatcha Say” and current chart climber (#1 Greatest Gainer at CHR Radio) “In My Head.”
Once heard “Solo” will live inside your head. It embodies all the key ingredients needed to be another smash at radio - a confirmation, once again, that Iyaz is one of the fastest rising stars of today

"Today was a Fairytale" is now added at CJLS FM,Yarmouth. The song is featured on the Valentine's Day movie soundtrack (in stores 2/9) and Taylor performed it on the Grammys.

“Whiplash” is the latest single from emerging Toronto based pop/dance artist Amanda Morra. The multi-talented 21 year old singer/songwriter and dancer has performed at may star studded events and charities and is now in the planning stages of a nationwide campus tour to support her self titled CD.
While the singer worked on her debut with Juno Award winning producer Gavin Bradley (Jack Soul, Nelly Furtado, Tori Amos) and producers Don Kircher and Craig McConnell, she had a hand in writing six of the ten tracks and the songs are a true reflection of her life experiences over the past few years—which range from the fun, free spirited “still a kid” tracks to others that touch on the ups and downs of romantic relationships at her age.
The previous singles from this CD have garnered airplay in Canada and the US. And, her videos have received airplay on both Muchmusic and BPMTV.com which counts down the hottest dance tracks from around the world.
Her participation in charitable organizations such as Wal-Mart Kids, an event which reinforces the retail giant’s commitment to the Children’s Miracle Network; Sick Kids Hospital; Heart and Stroke Foundation; and Breast Cancer Awareness has helped successfully raise funds for these causes which are near and dear to her heart.
While she says the songs she’s working on for her next project will touch on a whole new set of experiences since she wrote the songs for Amanda Morra, her goal is always the same: to create music people can relate to.
“My life has a unique balance, but it’s the music and performing that’s the center of it, and I love every aspect,” she says. “Writing, recording, playing live, long photo shoot days…it’s all so exhilarating! “
"The One" is the first single from singer/songwriter Marco Corbo. It features an all-star lineup of:
Greig Nori , Treble Charger, Sum 41 (producer, background vocals)
Rami Jaffee “ Foo Fighters (keys) Ryan Hoyle “ Collective Soul (drums)
Joel Shearer “ Alanis Morissette (guitars) Brad Smith “ Blind Melon (bass)
Mixed by Eric J. Dubowsky (Weezer, Carolina Liar) Mastered by George Marino at Sterling Sound Other Comments

Helping Haiti "Everybody Hurts"
Simon Cowell: "I wanted to do something for Haiti so when I had calls from The Sun and the Prime Minister asking if I would get involved I agreed immediately. And so he gathered some of the biggest names in UK and American music to record an emotive cover of the REM classic ‘Everybody Hurts’, to raise money for charities supporting the relief efforts in Haiti. The final line up of featured artists is; Mariah Carey, Jon Bon Jovi, Robbie Williams, Kylie, Rod Stewart, Leona Lewis, Alexandra Burke, Miley Cyrus, Take That, Joe McElderry, Cheryl Cole, JLS, Mika, Michael Bublé, James Blunt, James Morrison, Susan Boyle, and Westlife.
The single will split all proceeds 50/50 between DEC (Disasters Emergency Committee) and The Sun newspapers Helping Haiti appeal. Whilst UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown has pledged to waive VAT on the single. Details to follow on how we will collect and donate the money from international sales to follow.
The Haitian earthquake, which occurred on 12th January 2010 measuring a catastrophic 7.0 on the richter scale, is already estimated to have caused the deaths of over 250,000 people. 250,000 are in need of urgent aid and more than 2 million people are estimated homeless and in need of long term support to help rebuild their lives.
Rod Stewart said: I can’t think of a more fitting song than ‘Everybody Hurts’ to convey the unimaginable tragedy that is Haiti. I hope the record sales raise a lot of money because the country certainly needs it.
Alexandra Burke said: "It’s truly devastating what has happened in Haiti and if I can help in anyway then I will. This song will bring awareness to the suffering of the innocent people of Haiti and help them rebuild their lives and homes. When these natural disasters occur, we have to work together to make a difference. Please support us"

Alert the Medic
Aid the Getaway
Alert the Medic's "We, the weapon" is the highly anticipated follow up to their 2006 Self-Titled debut. This album is nothing, if not forceful. A dynamic display of infectious melodies, passionate performances, and driven only by their collective rock tendencies. Fueled by childhood MTV propaganda and the beckoning bright lights of their nearby Halifax metropolis, these former rural rockers are determined to fill the map with thumbtack holes.
In 2006, Alert the Medic joined forces with talented Producer Laurence Currie (Sloan, Wintersleep), to help define the sound of their debut release. Their first single, "Reported Missing" climbed to #1 on East Coast Radio and garnered national attention. 2008 saw nominations from both the ECMA and Music Nova Scotia, including CBC’s coveted Galaxie Rising Star of the Year and, with the welcomed addition of guitarist Troy Arseneault, Alert the Medic began pre-production for their sophomore album. The year was capped off with the D250 Rollercoaster Tour, with Ill Scarlett and opening for Our Lady Peace at Center 200 in Sydney, Nova Scotia.
In the spring of 2009, Alert the Medic temporarily relocated to Toronto and rejoined Currie to create the next installment in their collection. Toronto provided inspiration in the most unlikely of places - culture, history, people and poverty, overthrown by an endless skyline and glimpses of beauty, all tangled within a concrete jungle. These experiences were pivotal in the development of Alert the Medic’s unique sound. "We, the weapon" is an excellent representation of big city claustrophobia and small town frustration, citing that somewhere in-between there is always room for another voice. Songs such as "Let's hear it for the Symphony" and "The wound that won't heal", call on the youth of the world to stand up and be counted, while "The Weatherman (pt.2)" presents a haunting tone, finding the lack of light at the end of the tunnel.
"We, the weapon" was released in September 2009 at the Seahorse Tavern in their collective hometown of Halifax and has received TWO 2010 East Coast Music Award nominations for the Sirius Satellite Rock Recording of the Year and the Vibe Creative Group Single of the Year for "Atlas" the debut release from the album. “Atlas” was in rotation nationally for over 14 weeks and cracked Mediabase's Top 50 Active Rock Canadian Charts.

John Nathaniel
For You
Let me start by introducing myself. My name is John Nathaniel. Instead of writing a long bio, I wanna tell you short things about me that will help you know and understand me better :
- I'm a singer/songwriter and I also produce and mix my own music (I also work with other bands as a producer/mixer)
- I have my own recording studio and that is where I record all my songs and other artists.
- I'm 26---Gemini (not that I believe in that stuff but I thought it was funny to mention)
- I live in a city called Montreal, mostly known for its night life and hockey team.
- I play the piano, keyboards, electric and acoustic guitar, bass, mandolin and a bit of drums. I'm planing on learning new instruments soon.
- I used to be signed to a label a few years ago, but I decided to go indie and bought my way out of my deal (and got my soul back in exchange haha)
- I drive a Mini-Van........Call me Grandpa.....but I love it!
- I think a good acoustic song is what you need to begin with, then add stuff to it. But...If you're adding details to a song that's not so good to begin with, you're just polishing a turd!
- I'm not very complicated, I'm the guy next door......Who plays his guitar and pisses you off if you're not into music...gotta love it right!
- I use the word "Dude" and "Bro" way too often, I'm really trying to quit...or am I?
- I freaked out when I turned 25, but soon realized that it was a lot better than my teen years...And that growing old is something you should embrace and not fear. I recently found an old picture, and the hairstyle really freaked me out. There might have been a hint of a mullet.
- I'm addicted to TV shows like Smallville, 24, Supernatural, Dexter, Off Centre, Friends, Californication and more....
- I like long walks on the beach (hahaha just kidding, well I mean , I do like to walk on the beach but who writes that on a music profile)
- I have a thing for piano....no sh*t, I use it in almost every song!
- My Twitter is : twitter.com/johnnathaniel
- Some people might say I'm a little weird, I'd say they are probably right if we take into consideration that I mix orange juice and chinese food.
- I love music more than life itself.

Andy Kim
Happen Again
ANDY KIM is about to embark on another phase in his continually intriguing (and let's face it, massively popular) evolution, all the while, writing great SONGS. It's a great time as any to take stock of one of Canada's greatest singers and songwriters, and it all starts on March 30th when his first album in over HAPPEN AGAIN is released through E1 Music Canada.
Born in Montreal, rock indie pop singer/songwriter ANDY KIM was inspired by the Beatles, Hank Williams, Frank Sinatra, Elvis, Buddy Holly, and Bob Dylan. He found fame in New York City at just 16 years old when he wrote How'd We Ever Get This Way?, the first of nine Billboard Top 40 hits, including #1 songs Rock Me Gently and Sugar, Sugar, one of Billboard's "Greatest Songs of All Time." A true Canadian son, ANDY has been awarded the country's top industry honor twice, the JUNO Award for outstanding achievements in the record industry, as well as the "Indie Award" for Favorite Solo Artists in 2005. Over his epic career, ANDY has sold over 30 million records, with songs covered by music history's greats, including Wilson Pickett, Tom Jones, Ike & Tina Turner, and Bob Marley and has even been said to influence 80s metal band Def Leppard. He has recently performed and co-wrote songs with Ed Robertson of the Barenaked Ladies and Ron Sexsmith.
On March 30th, 2010 and at the supportive urging of friends and fans including North American rock and pop legends and today's hottest indie artists, ANDY will release HAPPEN AGAIN, an album of 10 brand new songs, each true to his passionate belief that "those who chase their dreams succeed only through sheer determination and a steadfast belief in the power of the individual to influence a multitude by speaking from the heart." Throughout his career, ANDY has always maintained an unwavering and unconditional love for his music, believing that "art is more important than the artist." His new music possesses the timeless, transcendent and transforming qualities of his songs before, while giving us a very personal look into the artist's take on love and change. Songs such as "3 Days in Heaven," "Someday", "Without You," and "Happen Again" express the faith in love, life and the importance of personal strength to enduring change.
ANDY was nominated for induction into the "2008 Hit Parade Hall of Fame" and the "Songwriters Hall of Fame." He lives in Los Angeles and Toronto and produces under his own label, !ceworks, with plans to tour across Canada in 2010- unbelievably, his first ever cross-Canada tour.
"It was such a pleasure to write and produce a song with ANDY KIM . He believes in the power of music, he loves songs, and he is SO rock and Roll. Beyond the massive hits, and the multi-decade career, there is a wonderful man who I'm proud to call my friend."
- Ed Robertson, Barenaked Ladies
