The Yarmouth and Acadian Shores Tourism Association has a new board chair.
Yarmouth town Councillor Wade Cleveland takes over the role from municipal Councillor John Cunningham.
A vote for a new chair and vice-chair was held yesterday.
Cleveland, who was elected to his first council term in October says it’s a great opportunity.
“I believe that tourism is one of the key pieces to the jigsaw, if you will that runs our economy. It’s another opportunity to help out and be part of something bigger. YASTA was one of the boards I really wanted to be a big part of. Being selected as Chairperson is really huge for me because it gives me an opportunity to be part of this.”
Argyle Councillor Calvin d’Entremont was named vice-chair.
The advisory board makes recommendations to YASTA on their tourism related work.
It is made up of leaders throughout the region, including tourism industry operators and municipal Councillors.
