NB Power Tells Committee About Plan To Transition To Sustainable Energy

The province's Climate Change Committee has heard from the president and CEO of NB Power that customers are looking for rate stability, reliability and cleaner energy.

Gaëtan Thomas telling the committee about their plan to transition to sustainable energy in New Brunswick which is a plan they're confident in. He says we're so dependant on electricity today and they expect that to rise in the future with a low carbon economy.

Should Millennials Rent Or Buy?

For Millennials in Atlantic Canada, renting appears to be a cheaper alternative to buying a home ,at least in the short term.

lexandra Baird Allen of Turner Drake and Partners says their research shows it's 40 per cent cheaper to rent an apartment compared to buying a house in the first five years.

Allen says Millennials face more financial barriers to buying home, starting with high student debt from getting an education then there's a lack of job security and the rising cost of housing.

IOC Won't Ban Russia From Rio Olympics

Russian athletes will not be banned from the Olympic Games in Rio following the country's doping scandal.

The International Olympic Committee held an emergency meeting today and will instead leave the decision up to individual sport's federations to decide whether Russian competitors are clean, and can take part in the games.

Canadian law professor Richard McLaren claimed Russia operated a state-sponsored doping program from 2011 to 2015.

#MobileMuslims Campaign Aims To Clear Misconceptions About Islam

A mobile exhibition is travelling across Canada with a purpose of clearing up misconceptions that people may have about Islam.

The campaign is called #MobileMuslims and it's expected that the journey is going to last 40 days and be set up in over 25 Canadian towns and cities. Spokesperson James Sinclair tells us a lot of people associate Islam with terror and the horrific acts that take place around the world, but says Islam is actually a peaceful religion.
